"Our dead brothers still live for us, and bid us think of life, not death -- of life to which in their youth they lent the passion and joy of the spring.

"As I listen, the great chorus of life and joy begins again, amid the awful orchestra of seen and unseen powers and destinies of good and evil trumpets once more a note of daring, hope, and will."

Oliver Wendell Holmes
1884

PURCHASED BY DEATH

VIETNAM WALL
WASHINGTON, DC

"As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free, while God is marching on."

In 1862, as these words formed in the mind of the poetess and proponent of freedom, Julia Ward Howe, "The Battle Hymn of The Republic" was born.

Since that time, this stirring anthem of patriotism and sacrifice has rung out across our land to stir the sprits of all who hold OUR country and OUR freedom dear.

In every war since the Civil War, paupers and presidents have joined their voices to proclaim the price our men and women of the Armed Forces are willing to pay for our right to democracy.

Each Memorial Day we honor those who have died for OUR freedom throughout history.

We honor their torture and their pain.

We honor their families torn by the tragedy.

We honor their faith in freedom.

We honor their faith in GOD!

As you read this remembrance of MEMORIAL DAY, one of our servicemen or women may be dying of wounds of war.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

PRAY FOR THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES!

PRAY FOR OUR COUNTRY AND OUR LEADERS, FOR THE ENEMY IS EVEN WITHIN OUR BORDERS!!

ABOVE ALL, TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF YOUR PRICELESS FREEDOM OF WORSHIP ..... PURCHASED BY DEATH!

In these uncertain times, we realize more than ever the vital importance of the men and women who serve in our country's military.

On MEMORIAL DAY , we pay tribute to our fellow countrymen who died in wartime, fighting to preserve the freedoms WE enjoy tday!

On this "solemn" day, let us remind ourselves that WE MUST NOT TAKE THESE FREEDOMS FOR GRANTED.

BUT GRATEFULLY REMEMBER THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE TO PROTECT THEM.!
